Morgantown Community Groups
Ben & Sarah Kinsey
Hello! We’re the Kinseys, and we’ve been part of the Crossroads Church family since 2016. We’re blessed with two daughters, Ellie and Madelyn, and currently live in Reedsville. Ben is an elementary band and music teacher, sharing his passion for music with kids. Sarah is at home with the girls, enjoying the adventures and joys of motherhood. As parents, we rely on God’s grace daily as we navigate the challenges and joys of raising our daughters. As a family, we love hiking, biking, campfires, gardening, and ending the day with a living room family dance party.
We lead a group that meets both at the church and in the Sabraton area. Every other Tuesday, we come together for a meal followed by a sermon discussion. In addition, we have separate men’s and women’s discipleship groups that meet bi-weekly. Our mission is to engage those around us with the gospel in our everyday lives, fostering an inviting community that points others to Christ through worship, service, and discipleship.
adam & tricia Williams
We have been attending Crossroads Church since the beginning, with a 6-year stint spent in Kentucky before coming back home to Morgantown in 2022. We have three children who are currently homeschooled. Adam works from home in the insurance field and Tricia is usually organizing and planning anything possible. We enjoy playing games, sitting outside with our neighbors, and watching our kids play sports/dance.
We lead a community group in the Grafton Road area, meeting on Wednesdays for a meal, sermon discussion, and kids’ discipleship lessons. We also meet in discipleship groups as men and women bi-weekly to encourage openness and community, and strive to be involved in one another’s regular rhythms with trips to parks, coffeeshop meetups, and attending local events together.

Jeff & Tieairra Mattern
Howdy! We are the Matterns, and we’ve been attending Crossroads Church since we were teenagers. Jeff works at a local bank in the compliance sector, while Tieairra primarily stays home with our two sons but also works part-time at a coffee shop. We enjoy playing video games together, watching movies, and playing with our kids outside.
We lead the Downtown Community Group that meets at the church building on Tuesday nights. Our group’s missional focus is the WVU campus, but we have members from across Morgantown. Our group’s goal is to glorify God and enjoy him together by cultivating Scriptural, Christ-Centered holiness in our heads, hearts, and hands. And we strive to build one another up through deep conversations and meaningful relationships, both in and outside of group.
Scott & amanda Whitaker
Hi, we’re Scott and Amanda. We have four kids in elementary and high school. We lead the Cheat Lake Community Group, which gatherings at 6pm on Tuesday evenings. We love the way God uses inter-generational interactions that can occur in a community group as we commit ourselves together to be doers of the Word in the Cheat Lake area. This Community Group loves to hike, to get together for playdates and adventures, and to work together to make Christ known.

Andrew & Rachel parsons
Hi there! We are Andrew and Rachel Parsons. We have 4 kids under 4 (when this photo was taken). Please pray for us! But seriously, we are thankful for our family and the Lord’s church at Crossroads that has sustained us since moving to Morgantown in 2021.
We are blessed to lead our family and the Mileground Community group in the heart of Morgantown on Thursday nights. We enjoy spending time with others through meals, sports, and outdoor activities. We hope to meet you working in the hospital, playing on the soccer field, eating at a local restaurant, and hopefully gathering at the church. We have a heart for seeing our brothers and sisters build community in the neighborhoods God has placed them, and build meaningful relationships with the neighbors God has given them. We hope to help strengthen one another in our ability to share the gospel of Christ and push back darkness with truth in love.
